We need RFID tagging in order to be able to identify all manufactured products. At the same time, we need to have access to a key database for traceability.

CONTEXT OF THE PROBLEM

Currently, each product is shipped with a barcode label which indicates the Production Order number. Thanks to this barcode, we can consult the product in SAP for traceability purposes. However, there are times when this label is removed at the mine, so we lose its traceability.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM

The current identification label is susceptible to be manipulated and lost. This will affect the traceability chain of the corresponding manufactured products.

FREQUENCY OF THE PROBLEM

This happens at least once every month.

PARTIAL SOLUTIONS

We keep visual records of all dispatches. Therefore, in case of loss of the label, we can deduce the production order number.

IMPACT OF THE PROBLEM

We need to be able to ensure traceability by a non-removable label. This label should be vulcanized and sticked to the product.

QUANTIFICATION OF THE PROBLEM

We have not measured the economic impact.
