Automate data collection process of field facilities.


CONTEXT OF THE PROBLEM

We are an AENZA corporation company that develops and operates energy projects in Latin America. We have more than 35 years operating our own and third party infrastructure in the oil, gas, chemical and energy industry. We manage oil and gas exploration and production of oil blocks III, IV and V and a natural gas processing plant in northwestern Peru. Additionally, through the Terminales del Perú consortium, we operate five terminals strategically located throughout the national territory, where we offer reception, storage and dispatch services for refined hydrocarbons and LPG.
Contamos con más de 35 años operando infraestructura propia y de terceros en la industria de petróleo, gas, químicos y energía.
Gestionamos la operación de exploración y producción de petróleo y gas de los lotes III, IV, V y una planta de procesamiento de gas natural en el noroeste del Perú. Adicionalmente, operamos a través del consorcio Terminales del Perú cinco terminales ubicados estratégicamente a lo largo del territorio nacional, donde ofrecemos servicios de recepción, almacenamiento y despacho de hidrocarburos refinados y GLP.

Currently, data capture of daily measurements at facilities is done manually by operators (in printed forms), later the analysts or supervisors transcribe said forms into excel spreadsheets; these spreadsheets are centralized and processed by the Statistics team who in turn enter the information into the official information repositories for processing. Decision-making process takes a full day of operation, they start transcribing and forwarding the information at 6 p.m. every day. After more than 14 hours, regularly, value of the previous day's final output is obtained.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM

“Operative data collection is done manually, you have to wait for the operator to deliver physical form with the information and then digitize it and send it to the people who process this data; this process is carried out on a daily basis, affecting the delivery of reports to Administration and Management"

FREQUENCY OF THE PROBLEM

This is a daily process, 365 days at the 3 UNNA Energia business sites.

  • Sending data via WhatsApp
  • Use of O365 forms
  • Changes in the information delivery schedule (process)
  • Use of ACONEX Field
  • Use of PowerApp to digitize forms
  • Use of other platforms

IMPACT OF THE PROBLEM

  • Regarding time, since it depends on many hours to have the information digitized and online.
  • Regarding decision-making process by not being able to detect operational problems or deviations in time.
  • Loss of MH in rework such as transcribing information, ordering, tabulation, errors, etc.

QUANTIFICATION OF THE PROBLEM

  • Reduction of time in the process in general, 12 hours on average of reduction.
  • Reduction of 8MH per day (operator, coordinator, supervisor and analyst).
  • Optimization of attention to production deviations, deferred, etc. (to be quantified)
