System for fixed asset tracking and identification, using RFID technology linked to a database.

CONTEXT OF THE PROBLEM

We have different fixed assets that are used in the production processes. Due to their complexity, these assets' identification can be considered as a challenge, as they are subjected to heat and pressure processes.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM

We have a manual register of all assets. However, we need this registry to be more dynamic. This should allow us to work with it through an application (on a cell phone or a tablet). We would like to be able to scan the fixed asset and immediately obtain its identification data, its complementarity with other fixed assets and its information on the latest maintenance or associated alerts. In addition, we would like to be able to identify its physical location in the warehouse.

FREQUENCY OF THE PROBLEM

This is an ongoing problem, since we have more than 500 fixed assets. They are continuously used in the manufacturing plant, in Lima.

PARTIAL SOLUTIONS

We keep records and we do inventories on a regular basis.

IMPACT OF THE PROBLEM

We waste a lot of time locating and tracking the various assets we have, especially when they are similar. In addition, we consult several databases to get the full picture, which leads us to waste a lot of time.

QUANTIFICATION OF THE PROBLEM

We have lost time and we have not quantified it.
